Cranky

Too right, Annabel. Turnbull (and as mentioned elsewhere, John Hewson) have been the exemplars of conduct in this election.

Labor has been an unmitigated disaster - their infighting coupled with the poll-driven policy and action vacuum of everything post-Apology - makes them a near-guaranteed one term government. This worries me - Australia under the Liberals as they currently are would be an NBN-dumping, public sector axeing, climate change-denying, dusky foreigner-hating bunch of extremists. That makes for an Australia I have no desire to be a part of.

If either side had the nerve to face the electorate with policy and campaign on it, that’d be remarkable.

More remarkable, of course, would be a Fourth Estate that focussed on analysis of policy or lack thereof. The media, including the ABC are obsessed with stories of no substance - the PM’s faith and marital status, minor gaffes, and the like. You are all abrogating your responsibility to the public - politicians and media all.
